HELICOPTER SERVICES CUSTOMIZING AIRBUS H125 FOR DALLAS POLICE DEPARTMENT
SPRING, Texas, July 14, 2026 Helicopter completion and MRO provider Helicopter Services, Inc. (HSI) of Spring, Texas, has announced it is customizing a new Airbus H125 for the Dallas Police Department.
“Airborne Law Enforcement and Airborne Public Safety operations are key areas of expertise for Helicopter Services, Inc. for decades,” states HSI’s Robin Crossland. “We are fortunate to have assisted a variety of U.S. airborne law enforcement agencies with their aircraft completions and support, particularly on Airbus H125 and other popular platforms.”
Air medical, airborne public safety agencies and private owners all rely on HSI.
“And we are very appreciative of the opportunity to assist another fine Texas law enforcement agency, Dallas Police Department, with their new aircraft project, here in our home state,” adds Crossland.
HSI will be attending the 2026 APSCON/Airborne Public Safety Conference in Fort Lauderdale this month. Team members will be available at Booth 624 to meet with clients and attendees of this very popular and vital conference.
Completion and service work covers airframes from Airbus, Bell, MD Helicopters, Enstrom and other popular brands, in the company’s 25,000 square foot facility at David Wayne Hooks Memorial Airport west of Houston. The facility includes dedicated shop areas for sheet metal, composite, avionics and other key services.
For the Dallas Police H125 project, HSI installed mission-specific equipment and upgraded the aircraft’s avionics to enhance operational capability, including install of the Garmin 600 autopilot system and GTN650/750 displays.
Other key mission components added by HSI include RSG air conditioning, Geneva pedestal console, REBTECH NVIS cockpit, Avalex/Mercury Digital Video Recorder, WESCAM MX-10 Imaging System, Shotover ARS-750 Mapping System, Technisonic TDFM 9000 radios and TRAKKABEAM searchlight. HSI also installed an Onboard Systems cargo hook swing kit.
The company continues its client-centric approach, with processes designed to further streamline the completion journey for HSI customers. “Our experience and rotorcraft-only focus helps us guide clients through all stages of their aircraft procurement and completion, which can improve process efficiency for the agency” says HSI General Manager Mike Crossland.
Helicopter Services, Inc. serves as the coordinator and single point of contact for its completion clients.
