Dallas Avionics Demonstrates BlueFly® Device
Signs Distribution Agreement

(July 15, 2026, Dallas, TEXAS) Dallas Avionics is pleased to announce that, following a successful demonstration of the BlueFly® detection device at the annual SAREX event in Texas, the company will be distributing the innovative search-and-rescue device.
BlueFly® is a Bluetooth detection device that can be quickly attached to a drone to identify and detect low-energy Bluetooth devices. In areas of thick foliage, low visibility, and tough terrain, the innovative device can help search and rescue teams find and rescue lost individuals and people who may be evading law enforcement.
“The BlueFly® device is an incredible device that can aid law enforcement and government agencies with numerous missions by adding new capabilities that previously did not exist,” said Dallas Avionics Government Agency Sales Executive Cody Klaehn, a retired Texas DPS Aircraft Tactical Flight Officer Training Lieutenant. “At SAREX 2026, we were able to work with 335 attendees, 52 agencies, and 22 aircraft from 13 different units. We will have the BlueFly® unit to show people during the Airborne Public Safety Association’s annual APSCON convention held July 13-17 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.”
BlueFly® detects unintended, low-power Bluetooth and Wi-Fi signals, identifies the devices emitting them, and determines their locations. These devices can include phones, AirTags, and Tile devices. Watches, fitness devices, medical devices, and other smart devices.
“The possible applications for the BlueFly® are amazing. Looking for lost hikers, conducting disaster response, enhancing border security, and even remote surveillance can be enhanced with BlueFly®. This is a real game-changer. BlueFly® has been deployed with drones already, and now we will be offering its capabilities to helicopter operations also,” said Klaehn.
BlueFly® is a product manufactured by QRC Technologies, a Parsons company. For more information about the BlueFly®, stop by the Dallas Avionics Booth 500 at APSCON.
