Aviation Specialties Unlimited Promotes Alexander Emmel to Director of International Sales
Boise, Idaho – June 2, 2026 – Aviation Specialties Unlimited (ASU), a leading provider of night vision solutions, announced today that Alexander Emmel was promoted to the Director of International Sales position. Emmel has worked with ASU since October 2018 in various roles, including Chief Pilot and Director of Safety.
"Alex has helped ASU expand sales and service to customers throughout Europe, South America, Africa, and more over the years,” said ASU Vice President of Sales Dan Meyer. “In this new expanded role, Alex will further develop customer relations throughout the world while aiding in the development of sales team members.”
As ASU’s Director of International Sales, Emmel will provide strategic oversight, coaching, and operational support to regional teams, while leveraging market insights to influence global sales initiatives and optimize customer engagement.
“I have worked with the growing ASU team for many years, both as an employee of ASU and in other ways for decades,” said Emmel. “This new position allows me to continue growing, expand territories, provide valuable insights to territory managers, and help international customers seeking to start or expand their night vision flight operations. I will continue serving Europe while we identify and hire a new European-based representative for ASU.”
In addition to his work with ASU, Emmel has a long career in aviation. His experience includes being a commercial pilot, a certified flight instructor, a technical support specialist, and a compliance and safety manager. Emmel was also trained as a certified flight instructor, in NVG testing and as an NVIS test pilot. He is also factory trained at Airbus and Robinson Helicopters.
“Alex is uniquely qualified to guide new territory managers and emerging market leaders in all aspects of NVIS,” said Meyer. “There is not an aspect of NVG Operations he has not experienced firsthand. Whether it is standing up new operations, training pilots, training crew members or selling the ASU NVG E3 goggles, he has been involved in every aspect of the process. This will further ASU’s mission to increase the safety of flying at night by empowering him to expand his influence with operations around the world.”
