Metro Aviation Attends Verticon 2026
SHREVEPORT, La. — Metro Aviation will highlight several aircraft and key partnerships at VERTICON 2026 in Atlanta, including an EC145 C2 and the AW09 aircraft on display at the Metro booth, and multiple completed aircraft featured on the Airbus exhibit.
Metro will showcase a refurbished EC145 C2 completed for Wellstar AirCare. The aircraft represents Metro Aviation’s ability to transform previously owned aircraft into like-new platforms equipped for modern air medical missions. The aircraft supports Wellstar’s continued expansion of critical care transport capabilities across Georgia and the Southeast.
“Just four years after launching AirCare 1 in Augusta, Georgia—and two years after our merger with Wellstar Health System—it became clear that expanding our air critical care transport capabilities was essential to support the nine additional Wellstar hospitals across the metro Atlanta region,” said Zack Lancaster, Wellstar AirCare Program Director.
“Through our partnership with Metro Aviation, AirCare was proud to add the EC145 C2 to operate alongside our EC145 C2e aircraft. This expansion strengthens Wellstar AirCare’s ability to rapidly deliver specialized care and critical transport services when and where patients need them most.”
Metro will also feature the AW09 at its booth, giving attendees the opportunity to see the next-generation single-engine helicopter designed to support a wide range of missions including emergency medical services.
Several Metro-completed aircraft will also be showcased at the Airbus booth, including the New York State Police H145 D3 and Memorial Hermann Health System’s H160.
Metro Aviation partnered with Davenport Aviation and the New York State Police on the completion of the H145 as part of the modernization of the NYSP Aviation Unit. Metro was awarded a multi-ship completion contract through Davenport Aviation and has already delivered two aircraft, with additional aircraft scheduled for completion in the coming years.
The NYSP H145 on display is equipped for a wide range of mission profiles, from tactical law enforcement to search and rescue, with specialized equipment including an onboard hoist, customized Tactical Flight Officer (TFO) station, FLIR 380 HDC thermal imaging system, Trakka searchlight for nighttime operations, and more.
Also featured on the Airbus booth is Memorial Hermann’s H160, representing the health system’s continued partnership with Metro Aviation. Metro previously delivered two H145 aircraft for the hospital system and is currently completing two additional aircraft.
Metro Aviation’s completion centers continue to support a growing number of operators across air medical and law enforcement sectors. In the past year, the Metro Aviation completion center delivered 24 new aircraft completions, completed five aircraft refurbishment or mission upgrade projects, and performed eight aircraft inspection projects ranging from heavy to light maintenance.
Additionally, Metro Gulf completed 19 helicopters and two fixed-wing aircraft during the same period. PAC International completed or refurbished 21 aircraft and performed 64 component overhauls along with 72 maintenance jobs.
VERTICON will host the Industry Career Fair and Mil2Civ Workshop, providing valuable opportunities for those interested in careers in the civil vertical aviation industry.
