August 21, 2025, Dallas, TEXAS) Dallas Avionics conducted a unique learning experience for students this week in Seguin, Texas, while partnering with Texas Parks and Wildlife and Friedens Early Learning Center. Students were able to interact with aircraft, ask pilots questions, and learned about the many operations helicopter pilots can perform.

“The aviation industry needs to continually reach out to young students to teach them all about becoming pilots, crew members, and aviation mechanics,” said Dallas Avionics Government Agency Sales Executive Cody Klaehn. “With the recent floods in Texas, students saw firsthand how important helicopters can be to protect our region. I am grateful that the school expressed an interest in learning, and to the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department for flying in their aircraft for students to have such a unique learning experience.”

One of the crew members who was there that day was also present during the floods and conducted multiple rescues. Students were able to ask about the missions he flew and about all that happened.  Cambry Terry serves as the Director at Friedens Early Learning Academy.

“Our Students at Friedens Early Learning Academy had a sky-high learning experience when they got to see a real helicopter up close during a special demonstration on campus,” said Terry.

“After the safe landing, the pilot greeted the children and explained how helicopters work, and the importance they hold in rescues. They allowed our children to sit in the pilot seats and take a look around. The demonstration tied into the preschool’s ongoing lessons about community helpers and different modes of transportation. It was such a memorable experience for our kiddos to watch the helicopter take flight and head back to work! We are so thankful for our Friends at Texas Parks and Wildlife and Dallas Avionics for bringing learning to life in unforgettable ways.”

Klaehn continues to travel around the country teaching law enforcement classes and conducting community outreaches. Dallas Avionics realizes the importance of giving back as a company.

“The questions we received from the students were fun and entertaining. Some students asked about how fast the helicopter could fly. One asked how it flies. The funniest question was from a young student who asked if he could hunt wild pigs that are prevalent in Texas from a helicopter. I do not know who had more fun, the students or us,” said Klaehn. “We all need to remember we were once inquisitive students who were enamored with how things work and what they do. Stirring up the imagination and dreams of even one student who could go on to become the next pilot or crew member who helps save lives is so important. That is why we continue to conduct outreaches.”
