Vigo, May 2025 – CENTUM has signed a contract with Airbus Defence and Space to supply the Lifeseeker SAR XL system for the C295 Maritime Surveillance Aircraft (MSA/VIGMA) destined for Spain. This agreement reinforces Lifeseeker’s position as a leading solution in Search and Rescue (SAR) operations.

Lifeseeker, a system that accurately locates mobile phones, will be deployed on the C295 MSA/VIGMA to enhance the effectiveness of SAR missions. The technology can locate missing persons even in areas without mobile coverage, significantly improving response times and operational efficiency—critical factors in maritime surveillance missions.

The C295 MSA/VIGMA, procured by the Spanish Ministry of Defence, will be primarily equipped for maritime and land-based operations, including counter-smuggling, illegal immigration control, and anti-narcotics efforts, as well as national and international SAR missions.

"The integration of Lifeseeker into the C295 under the VIGMA program marks a significant step forward in the platform’s maritime surveillance capabilities," said Javier Chamorro, Executive President of CENTUM. "It also opens new opportunities to bring the system to many other C295 end users around the world."

The announcement was made during FEINDEF, Spain’s leading defense and security exhibition, further solidifying the collaboration between Airbus and CENTUM.
