McKinney, Texas, October 22, 2024 - Adventure Pilot, a leading provider of electronic flight bag (EFB) applications, is pleased to announce the integration of SayWeather, a cutting-edge automated weather reporting system, into its iFly EFB platform. This collaboration aims to provide pilots with enhanced situational awareness and comprehensive weather information, further promoting safety and efficiency in flight operations.

SayWeather, developed by Connectsix LLC, offers affordable and reliable Automated Weather Observation System (AWOS)-like advisories for airports. By using calibrated weather data from on-airport sensors, SayWeather delivers clear, non-distracting surface-weather advisories to pilots. Pilots can access surface-weather advisories by simply keying their mic four times. SayWeather responds to the pilot with an up-to-the-minute audio advisory including winds, temperature and dew point, altimeter, density altitude and optionally visibility, present weather, sky condition and ceiling. No specialized equipment or aircraft modifications are required – any VHF-equipped aircraft can access a SayWeather airport’s weather advisory.

“We are excited to be working with Adventure Pilot. Making SayWeather METARs accessible through the iFly EFB will increase situational awareness, enhance safety, benefit flight planning and add convenience.”, said Larry Langebrake, co-Founder of Connectsix LLC.

With the integration into iFly EFB, pilots can now benefit from SayWeather’s unique capabilities directly within the iFly EFB app. This includes on-demand airport advisory weather reports, METARs (Meteorological Aerodrome Reports) via text, along with a graphic representation of the conditions. SayWeather systems continuously update weather information, ensuring pilots have the most current data available for their flight planning and operations.

Juanita Boyd, VP of Operations at Adventure Pilot, commented on the collaboration: "By partnering with SayWeather, we’re able to enhance traditional aviation weather data with real-time, precise updates. This integration provides our users with a comprehensive weather reporting tool, offering METAR-like data at both public and private airports, many of which are typically excluded from FAA data."

The integration with iFly EFB is available with the 13.2 software upgrade. Current users can access these new features through a simple app update with no additional costs.
