Eligible for sign-on bonus and relocation stipend

Working for Hillsboro Aviation is not about moving aircraft around in the sky. It’s not about rotor blades, paperwork, or turning screws.

It’s about chasing the extraordinary. It’s about flight.

Flight captures our imagination and demands more of us. More innovation. More creativity. More grit. More intent. More of what makes us feel alive. More of what makes this whole business worthwhile.

Maybe you’re looking for more. Maybe you’re looking for something extraordinary. If you are, we’re looking for you.

About Hillsboro Aviation

Founded in 1980, we offer complete helicopter, airplane, and unmanned services to domestic and international markets in the government, commercial, and private sectors. Our divisions include contract and charter, defense operations, aircraft sales and management, service center, parts sales, and FBO. With 13 turbine aircraft and over 85 employees, we are located at our award-winning headquarters at the Portland-Hillsboro Airport (KHIO) in Hillsboro, Oregon.

The Service Center Division

Each division of Hillsboro Aviation plays an integral role in creating extraordinary experiences for our team and our customers. Our passion is rooted in the dream of what we do, the people we do it with, and the people we do it for.

As part of our service center division, you will support our Part 145 Repair Station specializing in comprehensive maintenance and avionics, servicing a diverse range of helicopters and airplanes. You’ll be a part of a team supporting everything from major installations for general aviation aircraft owners to full panel customizations for government aircraft.

Who We’re Looking For

Bored performing the same ops checks and nav data uploads? If you’re looking to be involved in the design and integration of complex avionics, nav systems, and IRS systems, we’re looking for you. We are looking for avionics technicians that can operate independently, exercise sound judgement, and uniquely contribute to our team of passionate purveyors of flight.

As an avionics technician, you will work closely with the service center team, ensuring that each job is completed to perfection. What does that mean, exactly? Our approach is simple: treat clients, their needs, and their budgets as if they were our own.

What does that mean for you? It means you’re a self-starter with a passion for being and doing the best. It means you’re confident working independently and with limited supervision. You’ve got grit, a strong work ethic, and you’re intent on seeing the bright side. You’ve got a laser eye for detail and demand organization.

Most of all, it means you’re proud to represent Hillsboro Aviation. Because you’re not just representing a company logo. You’re representing a tight-knit family of flight fanatics. A family you’re a part of.

What You’ll Do

As an Avionics Technician, your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Installation of new avionics equipment in Part 23 airplanes and Part 27 helicopters.
  • Troubleshooting and repair of installed avionics systems in customers owned aircraft
  • Maintaining avionics systems in Hillsboro Aviation owned airplanes and helicopters
  • Maintaining the avionics shop in a clean and organized manner
  • Be a problem solver and constructively offer new ideas
  • Adhering to FAA Part 145 Repair Station practices
  • Be able to effectively communicate with other employees, and customers
  • Present a positive professional attitude and appearance
  • Constant variation in dealing with new technology avionics as well as legacy equipment
  • Flexibility in work schedule
  • Potential travel on short notice for a limited duration
