Blackhawk Aerospace Technologies completed the STC for the installation of the new Garmin GI-275 Electronic Standby Instrument System for Citation series aircraft. The AML STC applies to all serial number aircraft for Citation 500/501/550/S550/560/560XL series aircraft. The current system in these aircraft has become difficult and costly to repair. The new STC provides Citation series owners with a cost-effective solution that is easy to install along with the provided PMA kit. Owners have the option for the use of an internal Lithium Battery powered GI-275 or the existing Standby Battery System. The fully encompassing data package includes the aircraft-specific airspeed markings necessary to ensure the GI-275 installation is done correctly. Some options for the GI-275 can be added at the time of installation, including Synthetic Vision, a backup GPS antenna and a Heading Magnetometer. The STC and PMA kits are available to purchase through the Garmin Dealer Network or at Blackhawk Aerospace Technologies in Columbia, Missouri. "Our customers were looking for a turnkey solution to an age-old program for the Citation 500 series aircraft," said Conrad Theisen, BAT's VP of Sales andamp; Marketing. "We listened and developed an STC designed by installers for installers for a low-cost solution."
