Asheville Airport ATCT Relocation and Beacon Location Awareness
The Asheville Regional Airport Traffic Control Tower (ATCT) has relocated from atop the terminal building on the east side of the aerodrome to a standalone structure on the west side of the aerodrome.
Operations from the old ATCT ceased at 2300 local on May 17, 2026. Operations from the new ATCT began at 0630 local on May 18, 2026.
Pilots operating at or near Asheville Regional Airport should use caution when using the rotating beacon to identify the airport environment. The rotating beacon is currently depicted on charts with the old ATCT on the east side of the aerodrome, but the beacon has relocated with the ATCT to the west side of the aerodrome.
These changes are expected to be reflected in publications on the June 11, 2026 chart cycle. Pilots should continue to review all current charts, NOTAMs, airport information, and applicable publications when operating at or near Asheville Regional Airport.
