Textron Aviation has announced that it has delivered the first three Cessna Citation Ascend business jets to fleet launch customer NetJets. Textron states that the delivery builds on its longstanding relationship with NetJets. The two companies have had a relationship for over 40 years. Over the years, NetJets has taken delivery of more than 800 aircraft from Textron, including the Citation S/II, Bravo, V Ultra, Encore, Encore+, VII, Excel, XLS, Sovereign, X, Latitude and Longitude. The Ascend aircraft is planned to begin operations immediately, with additional deliveries planned in the coming months."The Citation Ascend represents our continued investment in supporting NetJets customers well into the future," said Lannie O'Bannion, Textron senior VP of Sales and Marketing. "Building on the proven performance the Citation family is known for, the Ascend introduces new technology and comfort enhancements that matter to fleet customers. We look forward to supporting NetJets as they take delivery of their first Ascend and continue delivering a premium, dependable experience for customers around the world." The Ascend is configured for 12 passengers and has an advanced acoustic treatment system that reduces noise in the cabin. Textron claims the cabin noise level is similar to driving on the highway. There are 19 standard USB charging ports and three universal outlets throughout the aircraft, along with wireless phone charging. Customers should be able to control the cabin lighting, temperature, window shades and onboard entertainment. The cockpit features three 14-inch high-resolution displays, synthetic vision tech to render obstacles, and autothrottle technology to reduce pilot workload and provide flight-envelope protection. There is an optional second Iridium data radio and controller-pilot data link communications (CPDLC) for direct routing between North America and Europe. The Ascend includes standard GoGo U.S. Avance L3 Max Wi-Fi and optional U.S. Avance L5 Wi-Fi for connectivity options.
