Skyservice receives first Canadian-registered Gulfstream G500

Skyservice Business Aviation announced on Monday the delivery of the first Canadian-registered Gulfstream G500. This milestone marks the aircraft's formal entry into service as the first G500 to be registered and operated on the Canadian registry, after spending several years of review. Skyservice states that the aircraft will enter service in May. The business jet has a range of 5,300 nm and a cruise speed of Mach 0.85. The company claims the delivery reflects fleet progression to next-generation Gulfstream platforms, including the G700 and G800 aircraft. "This delivery represents an important step forward for business aviation in Canada," said Benjamin Murray, president and CEO of Skyservice. "It reflects the level of coordination required across regulators, manufacturers, and our internal teams to introduce a new aircraft type into the Canadian market and ensures Canadian-based clients can now operate the G500 under domestic regulatory oversight, enjoying the operational flexibility and performance the aircraft was designed to deliver." Primary type certification is the responsibility of the country where it was designed. Other national regulators typically validate the primary certification, but can decline approval or request more information.
