A UPS Boeing 767 had to abort landing at the Muhammad Ali International Airport (SDF) in Louisville, Kentucky, on Tuesday due to a runway incursion. The cargo jet was closing in for landing when a Pilatus PC-12 (N667RB) entered the active runway without authorization. The air traffic controller yelled at the small aircraft to stop before instructing the Boeing to perform a go-around, according to the Independent. The PC-12 is owned and operated by Lapcorp, a global life sciences and healthcare company. "Skylab 25, what are you doing?" said the controller after the jet was able to land safely. "Skylab 25, yeah, sorry about that," said the Pilatus pilot. The incident follows the NTSB's announcement of the two-day investigative hearing on the Nov. 4, 2025, crash that occurred at SDF. A UPS MD-11, operating as Flight 2976, was departing SDF when its left engine separated from the wing and caught fire. The aircraft crashed into a nearby petroleum recycling plant and automotive salvage yard and killed three crew members and 11 people on the ground. A 15th victim later died on Christmas Day from the injuries he sustained from the crash.RELATED STORIES:NTSB announces two-day investigative hearing on UPS cargo crash in Kentucky Abby's Ramp Ramble - The Call is Coming from Inside the Plane Pilots scolded for meowing over emergency frequency in DC airspace The preliminary report stated that fatigue cracks were discovered on left-engine-mount components recovered from the runway, including the spherical bearing assembly. It also stated there was evidence of overstress failures. It was later discovered that these specific parts were identified in 2011 in a Boeing service letter as being prone to cracking and breaking. While Boeing recommended replacing them with a different part, it did not require it and did not prohibit installing the part. The hearing will be held at the NTSB Boardroom and Conference Center on May 19-20. Times for the start and end of the hearing will be announced the week of May 11.
