Learjet 60 veers off runway at Teterboro Airport while landing
The Teterboro Airport (TEB) was temporarily closed Monday night after a Learjet 60 crashed while landing.
The midsize business-class jet was landing at around 6:30 p.m. when it was unable to stop. It veered off the left side of the runway and overran the runway, according to ASN. The Port Authority Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting unit responded to the scene and the airport was shut down. The Learjet overran the Engineered Materials Arresting System (EMAS), at the end of runway 24.
The airport was shut down for approximately one hour before operations resumed at around 7:30 p.m., according to ABC7. Six people were on board the aircraft, but no one was reported injured during the crash, according to the New York Post. The pilot reported experiencing brake issues.

The same Learjet 60 was also reportedly involved in an incident in February at the North Eleuthera International Airport in the Bahamas, according to the Aviation Safety Network. It had a runway incursion with American Airlines flight AA5233, a CRJ-702ER, when it landed on the runway as theAmerican jet was on the turning pad at the threshold of the runway.
