Cirrus announced on Monday the launch of its Mission Ready Simulator Sessions, which is a year-long simulator training program. The program was developed specifically for Cirrus SR20 and Cirrus SR22 owners. It provides 24 structured, mission-based simulator sessions that are released twice per month. Owners may complete one of the two available sessions each month, which Cirrus claims provides flexibility and encourages consistent engagement. All of the sessions were developed by experienced Cirrus Standardized Instructor Pilots. They include operational missions that require realistic decision-making, aircraft systems knowledge application, risk management and purposeful use of Cirrus aircraft features. Cirrus claims that each scenario has built-in, realistic ATC communications and that the instructors are supported with clearly defined objectives and integrated decision points. "Extensive aviation research along with decades of operational experience in flight training environments continues to demonstrate that structured simulation is one of the most effective tools for strengthening pilot decision-making and sustaining proficiency," said Cirrus CEO Zean Nielsen. "The Cirrus Mission Ready Simulator Sessions program represents the first phase of a broader investment to expand flight training content designed to enhance safety through continuous learning."
