Samson Sky has been making progress with bringing its Switchblade Flying Car to countries worldwide. It has been focusing its efforts in Central Asia and the Middle East, with multiple agreements made to use the Switchblade to boost private aviation and enhance tourism.The Switchblade is a street-legal hybrid, designed with adjustable wings and an extendable tail that can be safely stowed away while driving, then able to easily transform once an airport is reached. It is made of thermoplastic carbon composites, which are recyclable and non-toxic according to the company. The first flight of the aircraft was in November 2023 and plans to deliver the first Switchblades in late 2026. On Wednesday, the company announced that Sam Bousfield, CEO and Founder of Samson Sky, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with International Development Consultant Bakhtiyor Bahodurov at the SAMSON SKY - Welcome to Central Asia event in Dushanbe, Tajikistan. Samson Sky will assist the Tajikistan government in improving its General Aviation legislation to enable the Switchblade to be registered and used in the country. The agreement also facilitates the sale of 50 Switchblades to the country. The company will establish pilot training programs and provide access to flight simulators, training mechanics and replacement vehicle parts. In Feb. 2026, Samson Sky signed an MoU with AIR Tashkent of Uzbekistan. A key point in the MOU provides for AIR Tashkent to work with Samson Sky in facilitating the sale of 300 or more Switchblade Flying Cars in Uzbekistan. AIR Tashkent will make a bulk purchase for a portion of the 300 Switchblade and which will be utilized for pilot training for personal and commercial use. Samson Sky will provide training to Switchblade mechanics and pilots, assistance in getting the Switchblade approved for use in Saudi Arabia, use of the SAC facilities for sales and demonstrations and access to the SAC airport system throughout Saudi Arabia for Switchblade owners. The company will work with the Saudi Aviation Club and the Saudi government to qualify the Switchblade for road and flight use in the country. The Switchblade has already flown in the US and is currently being launched into production there. Sam Bousfield spoke in Dubai in Oct. 2025 at the Dubai World Congress For Self-Driving Transport. He presented his vision of the future and the potential for autonomous drive and fly regional travel, while sharing details on integrating AI into the cockpit of Switchblade production vehicles. He also highlighted how Samson is adopting the technologies required to bring future generation Switchblades up to full autonomous drive and flight.
