Van's Aircraft delivers first two RV-15 wing kits to Reno Racer
Van's Aircraft announced on Dec. 24 the first RV-15 wing kits delivered to a customer.
The first two RV-15 wing kits were picked up by Reno Racer Kevin Eldredge, who was the first to place a deposit for the kits at EAA AirVenture 2025. The second kit was originally purchased for Eldredge's wife but will now be built by pilot Spanky Melton.
When he arrived early, Eldredge received a tour of Van's facility and briefly met CEO Mikael Via and founder Richard VanGrunsven. He was able to see a few of the vinyl-protected parts before the lid was screwed down and got to open one of the RV Tackle Box parts bins debuting with the RV-15. The new system places the components in segmented, stackable plastic boxes instead of mixing all the parts. A guide is included that shows a photo of the actual part, part number and a QR code that can be used to purchase more if needed.?Spanky Melton,Kevin Eldredge, Richard VanGrunsven and Mikael ViaThe wing kit costs $21,000 and includes:Complete wing with VG-equipped flaps

Van's Aircraft reported that sales of the wing kits are above expectations and that deliveries will accelerate throughout January. Sales of RV-15's horizontal tail kit were moved to the end of January due to disruptions to flight tests and are expected to start being delivered in March.
