 Alpine Air Alaska, LLC is seeking highly qualified applicants to fill the position of Chief Pilot for our Part 135 Operation. Alpine Air Alaska has been in operation for over 30 years and has become a staple of the Alaska helicopter industry from tourism to various utility, charter, telecommunications and fire support operations. Our fleet consists of AS350, Robinson R66, and Robinson R44 aircraft. We have three bases located in Girdwood, Anchorage, and Valdez Alaska. 

The position of Chief Pilot is essential to the operations conducted and the culture of the company. The Chief Pilot leads, equips, and assigns pilots conducting Part 135 and Part 133 operations in a safe and legal manor through professional training and experience. Being highly knowledgeable of the company SOP's and Federal Aviation Regulations associated with the companies area of operations.

 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Directs all training activities of flight crew members.
  • Prepares adequate and current flight kit for each aircraft.
  • Maintains Electronic Flight Bag Program
  • Maintains pilot and aircraft records required by the company. FAR 135.63 (A4/A5)
  • Ensures all flight crews conform to standard procedures as outlined in applicable FAA regulations and company policies.
  • Ensure all pilots maintain current route qualifications and receive proficiency checks as required by FAA and the company.
  • Ensures compliance with the flight and duty limitations of FAR Part 135 and the GOM
  • Train pilots on OAS contract and coordinate with OAS inspectors for pilot qualifications
  • Train pilots how to fly external load and operate within Part 133 regulations
  • Assigns the Pilot in Command for flight operations
  • Report to the Director of Operations
  • Support Director of Operations in pilot evaluations and hiring process
  • Support Director of Operations in delegated tasks
  • Work with Director of Safety to promote a culture of safety and compliance with Safety Management System(SMS).
  • Maintain constant communication with line pilots to ensure they are supported
  • Assists in promoting a healthy work environment that promotes employee engagement, safety, integrity, and excellent customer service.
  • Serve as Check airman in assigned aircraft
  • Serve as PIC for all types of operations to evaluate company policies and procedures, lead by example to subordinate pilots, and keep face to face relationship with management and customers to maintain excellent customer service
  • Chief Pilot may delegate some duties, but retains overall responsibility
