Tecnam unveils P2006T NG, celebrates first orders
Tecnam has announced the launch of the new edition of the P2006T on the opening day of AERO Friedrichshafen on Wednesday. The new Tecnam P2006T NG includes over 300 improvements to the current P2006T MkII and will first be launched within EASA-approved countries.
The new design stems from customer suggestions and improved the best features of the P2006T, which has 400 units built. The P2006T NG includes over 300 improvements to the current model, allowing pilots to now benefit from an additional front door for the co-pilot and external access to the baggage compartment. The windows have been redesigned and are now larger to improve visibility. The powerplant is provided by the twin fuel injected Rotax9121Sc3 engines and offers high-altitude efficiency and lowered fuel consumption of 14 lt/hr per engine.
The wing position and anti-collision headlights have been integrated into the winglets and are equipped with state-of-the-art LED technology. These improvements enhance efficiency, style and visibility while offering a more eco-friendly and durable lighting solution.
The interior has also been enhanced with several major improvements, including a central console that houses the FMS GCU477 keyboard for efficiency management of all Garmin avionics, like the GFC700 3-axis autopilot and the G100 NXi. This offers intuitive pilot interface with total connectivity between the tablet and the cockpit with an innovative Garmin Flight Stream avionics system.
Tecnam is also offering a super-premium version with the P2006 NG SPORT. The premium version offers an all-Italian design with a black leather dashboard, soft LED lights, carbon-look panels, yokes and central console covered in leather. Each detail has been carefully designed and handcrafted. The cabin features Alcantara headliners, plush moquette seats, leather side walls and side panels with carbon look logos.
The big news was shared on opening day of the 30th AEO Friedrichshafen and Tecnam Managing Director Giovanni Pascale Langer explained the benefits of the new design in front of a large audience of media and customers. The first orders came in immediately, with Spanish flying school Fly-By becoming the launch operator of the P2006T NG to expand fleet operations in response to an increase in airline demand.
"Today, with the P2006T NG, Tecnam confirms its position as one of the most innovative aircraft manufacturers in the world," Tecnam CEO Paolo Pascale Langer said. "We certify several new designs each year in order to offer the best possible solutions to our customers."
