On Sept. 5 Gulfstream announced that the G700 had delivered an enhanced performance and increased level of cabin comfort for passengers than originally expected. The G700 range has increased to 7,750 nautical miles at Mach 0.85 or 6,650 nm at Mach 0.90, gaining 250 nm at each speed. The maximum operating speed increased from Mach 0.925 to Mach 0.935, ranking it as the top speed in the Gulfstream fleet. The cabin has the lowest cabin altitude in business aviation and was reduced to 2,8460 feet while flying at 41,000 feet, giving passengers an even higher level of comfort.
The G500 was built for performance and efficiency. The jet has nearly 60 city-pair speed records, able to fly 5,300 nm at Mach 0.85 and 4,500 nm at Mach 0.90. This was the first aircraft to be certified to use enhanced vision to land. On Oct. 10 Gulfstream announced the G500 was certified for steep-approach operations by the FAA. The latest certification will allow the jet to access some of the most challenger airports in the world.
