The Future Opportunities for Seaplanes and Amphibious Aviation will take place on March 20 at the Hilton Molina Stucky Venice, bringing together interested industry members and companies to discuss the resurgence of amphibious aircraft operations and its future in the aviation transport network.
The event will be produced by Quaynote Communications, a group specializing in events, marketing and PR for superyacht and business jet industries. The one-day event is produced in partnership with Arena Group Associates, a company offering strategic communication development services for the global aerospace sector. Future Opportunities for Seaplanes and Amphibious Aviation will delve into key market challenges, developments and possibilities, starting with the keynote - the legacy of amphibious aircraft, discussing how seaplanes were once a mainstay of airmail and passenger travel and "where did they go?" and why amphibious aviation makes sense again.
The panel discussions include:
Why the world needs amphibious aviation?
Follow the money - Financing, insurance, and registration
Integrating amphibious aviation into the air transport network - Where are the opportunities? OEMs and operators discuss
Infrastructure on water
Customer experience - meeting and exceeding expectations
There will also be a case study and a lakeside chat on mixing electricity and water - the future for sustainable amphibious aircraft, as well as "How can the next generation of amphibious aircraft support the sustainability imperative," and a Sustainable Water Aerodrome Network (SWAN) presentation. Panelists and speakers include industry members like Alistair Blundy, CEO of Skyrisks; Jude Augustine, co-founder and CEO of Tidal Flight; Anssi Rekula co-founder of Scandinavian Seaplanes Oy; and Eric Lithun, CEO of ElFly.
"For many years, the amphibious sector has been somewhat under the radar, hidden from public view except in certain parts of the world where they serve specific functions," Quaynote Director Lorna Titley said in a recent article. "All this looks set to change, however, as the development of new technologies and the desire for sustainable aviation options, have coupled together to renew interest in seaplanes and amphibious planes."
"We`re excited to see how the global nature of this burgeoning industry has been reflected in terms of organizations signing up for the conference in Venice," Arena Group President Jane Stanbury said. "Speakers such as George Alafinov, CEO of Jekta and Eric Lithun, CEO at El-Fly which are generously sponsoring this event are key players in a sector set to lead the way in terms of technologically advanced, efficient and environmentally friendly aviation."
