NetJets extends 20-year relationship with Gogo, signs new connectivity agreement
NetJets extended its agreement with Gogo Business Aviation to provide NetJet the ability to upgrade its fleet with Gogo AVANCE L5, Gogo 5G and Gogo Galileo. Now, the companies will extend a 20-year relationship with a 10-year agreement, giving NetJets the ability to upgrade its fleet dependent on mission.
"We are committed to providing our Owners with an exceptional travel experience, and Wi-Fi is a critical component," said Brad Ferrell, Executive VP and Chief Administrative Officer for NetJets. "Our Owners require reliable connectivity to continue their workday or connect with entertainment in-flight, which made AVANCE L5 and Gogo 5G the right platform to meet their needs, especially when traveling across America. Meanwhile, Gogo Galileo is an ideal solution for our European jets: It delivers high performance, it can be installed on any of our aircraft, and it's backed by Gogo's award-winning global customer support."
NetJets can upgrade its entire fleet to the AVANCE platform, including 5G and Gogo's global Low Earth Orbit broadband satellite service. The upgrades can be made depending on the aircraft's specific mission. European NetJets Owners can also benefit from Gogo Galileo.
"Gogo is excited to continue our long-term partnership with NetJets," Gogo's President and COO Sergio Aguirre said. "With more than 450 U.S. aircraft currently equipped with Gogo's systems, upgrading to AVANCE L5 will improve performance by three times, and Gogo 5G will improve performance several times that. Meanwhile, we are also bringing an even better experience to operators throughout Europe and around the world with Gogo Galileo."
Gogo has developed features like over-the-air software updates to address NetJets' specific operational needs. The company has also provided NetJets with services like Gogo Vision to improve inflight connectivity. Gogo 5G and LEO satcom services have been selected for NetJets' U.S. aircraft. These services are designed to deliver high throughput with very low latency to address an increase in demand for data-heavy services and applications currently used, along with future technology. European NetJets aircraft will use Gogo Galileo, which offers two fuselage-mount antennas. HDX was designed with a small form factor and can be installed on any size business aircraft, including large turboprops and superlight jets. FDX was designed to fit on larger aircraft and deliver best-in-class performance.
The AVANCE platform, which also powers Gogo Galileo, was designed to provide easy upgrade paths to newer technologies and networks. With Gogo Galileo, any aircraft with an AVANCE product installed, like L3 or L5, will only need to install the HDX or FDX antenna to the fuselage to access LEO satellite network technology.
