Gulfstream announced Monday that the new G700 has surpassed 50 city-pair speed records while en route to the Singapore Airshow. The G700 achieved its 50th speed record on a carbon-neutral flight from Los Angeles to Nice, France. The record-setting G700 traveled 5,197 nautical miles in 10 hours and 13 minutes at an average speed of Mach 0.90. The aircraft went on to set its 51st speed record on another carbon-neutral flight from Nice to Singapore, flying 5,754 nm in 11 hours and 30 minutes at an average speed of Mach 0.90. The latest milestone flights come after a city-pair record set by the G700 on a trip from Tokyo to Savannah in December. The jet made the 6,365 nm trip in 10 hours and 53 minutes at an average speed of Mach 0.91.RELATED STORIES:Gulfstream G700 outperforms during certification flying - increased range, cabin comfortGulfstream G700 achieves 25 speed records on world tour "These latest records once again prove that the G700 can help our customers reach their destinations faster," Gulfstream President Mark Burns said. "We are excited to return to the Singapore Airshow as we continue to see impressive business growth in the Asia-Pacific region. Demand for Gulfstream's high-performance capabilities has never been greater, and we look forward to showcasing our next-generation aircraft, which lead the industry in innovation, performance and cabin comfort." The new G700 features the most spacious cabin in business aviation with a higher than-originally-expected performance. On Sept. 5 Gulfstream announced that the G700 had delivered an enhanced performance and an increased level of cabin comfort for passengers than originally expected. The G700 range has increased to 7,750 nautical miles at Mach 0.85 or 6,650 nm at Mach 0.90, gaining 250 nm at each speed from the original expectations. The maximum operating speed has increased from Mach 0.925 to Mach 0.935, making it the fastest in the Gulfstream fleet. On Feb. 13 the FAA issued Final Special Conditions for the Gulfstream G700 and G800 for the "novel or unusual" electronic flight system. This marks another step as the long-awaited G700 nears certification. Originally slated for release in 2022, the G700 has seen major delays and now Gulfstream expects deliveries to begin in 2024. In September 2023 the G700 and G800 both earned EASA certification and are still on their way to achieving FAA certification.RELATED STORIES:FAA issues special conditions for G700, G800 over 'novel or unusual' electronic flight systemBombardier to debut Global 7500 at Singapore AirshowEve Air Mobility to debut at Singapore Air ShowGulfstream G700 to make Singapore Airshow debut alongside G600 Gulfstream announced on Feb. 8 that the G700 would make its debut at the Singapore Airshow alongside the award-winning G600.
