Veteran jet broker launches new aircraft sales firm
After 20 years in the world of business aviation consulting and brokerage firms, Michael Mikolay has launched Mikolay Jet Group, a new aircraft sales and acquisition company.
Mikolay Jet Group is based in Guilford, Connecticut and will offer unmatched client experiences. The firm's mission is to redefine the aircraft brokerage experience. Mikolay and his team will be serving in an advisory role, acting to improve how aircraft are bought and sold and making the unregulated brokerage experience smoother, more efficient and more effective for clients.
With the launch, Mikolay Jet Group proudly presents the first listing, a 13-passenger 2002 Bombardier Global Express, exclusively available through the company. The inaugural aircraft offers performance, luxury and reliability. Mikolay has over 25 years of experience, serving a variety of leadership roles where he oversaw each aspect of the aircraft transaction process. He has facilitated and helped to close 950 deals worth over $14 billion in sales. In his extensive career, Mikolay has focused on developing and maintaining long-term relationships with clients and other trusted industry partners. The relationships range from OEMs to legal and financing entities, along with those in consulting, aircraft management and staffing agencies.
He began his journey with aviation, business and technology after he graduated from Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio where he received his BS in Aero Technologies. At the start of his career, he worked in aircraft sales at Piedmont Hawthorne Aviation, Cessna Citation and Raytheon Aircraft (Beechcraft). He is an accomplished pilot with 1,700 flight hours and holds an Airline Transport rating as well as flight instructor certifications. Mikolay has a seaplane rating and a Raytheon Premier I type rating. In 2019 he achieved his aircraft broker certification from the International Aircraft Dealers Association. He was most recently the COO of Guardian Jet LLC.Mikolay has received praise from his peers after the launch of his new firm.
