The Position
The two (2) positions offered will cover an AS350B3e with BLR upgrades and a B407 Eagle for wild-land firefighting activities and/or various utility operations. These high-performance Type 3 aircraft have been extremely busy the last couple of years as CWN platforms performing bucket, cargo, repeater, PSD, recon and Helco missions. Other potential operations may include moving drills, seismic exploration, various lift projects and survey work. Hillsboro Aviation will guarantee 90 workdays (between mid May to mid Sept. - exact dates tbd) which will be paid as a salary throughout the season.
Job Responsibilities / Duties
The pilot will cover the assigned aircraft during the summer season (starting mid May - exact dates tbd) initially out of Hillsboro, OR.
Travel, accommodation and per diem are covered by Hillsboro Aviation. The USFS and DOI contracts will be operated on a 12 on 2 off or 12 on 12 off schedule. Other utility operations will be scheduled to meet the needs of the project. If operated on a 12 on 2 off schedule, occasionally longer breaks to travel back home may be arranged based on helicopter operations and relief pilot availability.
The Contract & Charter Division
Hillsboro Aviation’s contract & charter division provides services to the United States Forest Service (USFS), the Department of Interior (DOI), the Department of Defense (DoD), large national utility (powerline & infrastructure) and high-tech companies as well as smaller customers and individuals. The missions are ranging from Search and Rescue, Short Haul (Human External Cargo), construction support, firefighting, natural resource surveys, film/photo/news flights to Heli-Skiing. Our fleet is comprised of Bell 205A1++, Bell 407, Bell 407HP, Airbus AS350B3e, Bell 206, and Beechcraft King Air series.
