The Position

HAI is welcoming resumes for a AS 350 SAR & Short Haul pilot to support our contract and charter operations for the Mt. Rainer / Olympic and Cascades National Parks. The aircraft is an AS 350 B3e w/ BLR modification. Work ethic, availability and scheduling flexibility are important factors.

 

Job Responsibilities / Duties

The offered position will provide SAR and Fire Fighting support for the Mt Rainier, Olympic and North Cascades National Park starting in early May. The aircraft is a high-performance AS350 with BLR kit equipped with the Boost Dual-Hook system. In 2022, the aircraft flew close to 300 hours with 19 operational short haul mission. During the MAP, the aircraft serves primarily the National Parks and - at times - adjacent incidents. After the MAP, the aircraft is usually made available as national resource.

This long contract will be staffed on a 12/12 schedule. The pilot works directly with the DOI crew and/or the NP Rangers for the assigned missions. Daily preflight planning, participation in mission planning, safe execution of any acceptable flight assignment and daily reporting of operational activity is essential to the position. An on-site mechanic and Hillsboro Aviation's office will provide needed support for the duration of the contract.

 
The Contract & Charter Division

Hillsboro Aviation’s contract & charter division provides services to the United States Forest Service (USFS), the Department of Interior (DOI), the Department of Defense (DoD), large national utility (powerline & infrastructure) and high-tech companies as well as smaller customers and individuals. The missions are ranging from Search and Rescue, Short Haul (Human External Cargo), construction support, firefighting, natural resource surveys, film/photo/news flights to Heli-Skiing. Our fleet is comprised of Bell 205A1++, Bell 407, Bell 407HP, Airbus AS350B3e, Bell 206, and Beechcraft King Air series.
