A day in the life - Get ready to think big, work smart and shine bright!

  • Monitor and oversee safe conduct of flight operations of the company’s aircraft as well as act as the department’s main point of contact for pilots, maintenance, and ground support to report any irregularities which involve flight operations safety or emergency response measures.
  • Analyze and elevate meteorological information to determine potential hazards and safety of flight and coordinate aviation activity with all Operating Units that use aircraft in the course of the utility business.
  • Coordinate activity in the hangar with the proposed aircraft schedule.
  • Release Flights, Flight Follow and Aircraft Operations Coordinator (AOC): Act as an Aircraft Operations Dispatcher in coordination with the Chief Pilot and the Maintenance Manager.
  • Management of Aircraft Schedule: Process and schedule flight requests and coordinate with the Helicopter Operations Specialists for external load requests.
  • Management of contract aircraft: Assign work to contract aircraft operators, track when their work is scheduled and completed, and help chase down issues for P.O.’s / invoices.
  • Conduct a monthly audit of the scheduling process and compute the monthly aircraft utilization.
  • Answer telephones and direct and or address client questions.
  • Make travel arrangements as directed by supervisor for flight crew.
  • Serve as back-up Airspace Coordinator when needed.
