NTSB Final Report: Spearman, TX

The pilot reported that, while performing an aerial inspection of a fence, he heard a loud bang come from the engine and the helicopter began to shake and lose altitude. The shaking stopped momentarily but then started again and the engine lost total power. The pilot performed a forced landing, during which the helicopter impacted cedar trees and then rolled several times down a hill. The helicopter sustained substantial damage to the fuselage, tail boom, and main rotor gearbox.

NTSB Preliminary Report: Kamas, UT

On January 18, 2026, about 1510 mountain standard time, a Bell 206L-1, N138DD, was substantially damaged when it was involved in an accident near Kamas, Utah. The pilot and three passengers received minor injuries. The helicopter was operated as a Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations Part 91 personal flight.

On February 2, 2026, at about 1301 mountain standard time, an Enstrom F-28C helicopter, registration N5692Y, was substantially damaged near Leeds, Utah. The pilot was seriously injured and the passenger sustained minor injuries.
