Hawthorne FBO chain comes under new ownership

Hawthorne Global Aviation Services, an FBO chain with six locations around the country, is coming under new ownership.Owned by Moelis Capital Partners since 2011, investments firms Wafra and NOVA have acquired Hawthorne to expand the FBO's footprint and offerings."We believe Hawthorne's existing locations form a leading, multi-region FBO network, and with NOVA and Wafra's support, we look forward to expanding our footprint to serve a greater portion of the aviation industry," said Chuck Kegley, CEO of Hawthorne. The FBO network, which is celebrating 90 years in business, has locations in New York, Chicago, and Atlanta, offering fueling and hangaring for both corporate and general aviation traffic."Hawthorne has a history of strong operational performance and this investment represents an opportunity for organic and strategic growth in the fragmented market of FBOs," said Adel Alderbas, Chief Investment Officer of Wafra.
