KLM Flight Academy to go electric with Bye Aerospace eFlyer purchase

KLM Flight Academy, the recruitment and training facility for future KLM airline pilots, will go all-electric with its purchase of six eFlyer 3 and eight eFlyer 4 aircraft from Bye Aerospace.George E. Bye, CEO of Bye Aerospace, noted that this is the first major airline flight academy to purchase the eFlyer. While the aircraft will help the Flight Academy become carbon neutral, it will also help it reduce the noise in the Elde, Netherlands area where the academy is located. All-electric aircraft are known for their lower operating costs and no CO2 emissions, making this a great training tool for training and moving the industry towards a more sustainable future."We are excited to become part of the eFlyer development of Bye Aerospace and look forward to becoming a zero-emission flight academy in support of our parent company's development and strategy," said Bart de Vries, Managing Director of KLM Flight Academy. The eFlyer aircraft has a goal of being the first FAA-certified all-electric airplane used by the flight training and general aviation sectors.
